On Easter weekend, Maryse and Cody welcomed a beautiful baby boy. Two weeks later they welcomed me into their home to capture some of those precious first moments. I love newborn lifestyle sessions for many reasons, but especially for the easy pace and the comfort new parents feel in their own environment.
Throwback to a couple of years ago when I photographed an awesome backyard wedding in Lancaster, Ontario. This one sticks out in my mind because a) the mighty St. Laurence River was the backdrop for the ceremony, b) the bride wore the most amazing dress and her bridesmaids reminded me of beautiful garden fairies, and c) the bride’s sister gave a hilarious speech that had me in stitches!
That hilarious sister was Caitie and she went on to hire me for her upcoming wedding. I just love referrals & word-of-mouth clients!!! Another interesting fact: I was present when Caitie brought Chase to her sister’s wedding and introduced him to all of her relatives AT THE SAME TIME! The guy is definitely a keeper!
Fast forward to a couple of months ago when I met up with Caitie and Chase for their engagement session. They pulled up next to me and two squishy, adorable faces peeked out the window. They brought their fur babies to join in on the photo fun! We spent a chilly but fun afternoon capturing some great images. I can’t wait to capture more at their le Belvedere wedding next Fall!
It seems that many of my 2019 couples are seeking a seasonal contrast between their engagement and wedding photos. Caro & Seb are one of those couples…they are getting married next summer but wanted a snowy background for their engagement session. They chose a pretty, forested trail near their Limoges, Ontario home.
After several rescheduled dates due to uncomfortably cold temps, we were finally able to meet earlier this month. While it wasn’t cosy warm outside, they took advantage of the frosty afternoon to heat things up with hot cocoa, blankets and a lot of snuggles. And those really are the best kind of sessions 😉
I’ve always wanted to do a session at a tree farm but Christmas is a little hectic around here and I’ve never actually found the time to set one up. So when Rachel told me that her Uncle has a tree farm and they would like to use it for their e-session I was kind of excited!
We met up a few days before Christmas – on possibly the chilliest December afternoon – and spent some time chatting while they decorated a tree and warmed up with coffee. I ended up with some great images while they got comfortable in front of the camera. They will be pros by the time their wedding rolls around next Fall…and I’ll be there to capture it all 😉
The last time I saw Laura and Chris was at their 2017 wedding. They also reside in BC so it would be reasonable to assume that, when the time came, they would find a photographer near them to capture this new milestone. But Laura had other plans 😉 She contacted me early in her pregnancy, hoping to book a maternity session during a trip home to Ottawa. I am always SO honoured when clients trust me to photograph milestones in their lives.
We spent an hour or so playing catch up before the fog and fading daylight finally got the better of us. We ended up with some great images and wonderful memories. I’m SO excited for them to experience all the joys parenthood brings!
