I was looking forward to Grace and Patrick’s wedding for months…it was to be a small, family affair and taking place during the morning hours. All of my favourite things for a wedding day! Grace suggested I come a little early so I could join them for breakfast and meet everyone. So when I arrived to a quiet little apartment and knocked on the door I was wondering why the silence and lack of commotion??? Patrick opened the door and was the only one home! Slowly others began to arrive and finally Grace showed up and began to get ready. This wedding was the epitome of laid-back casual! We had no timeline and nowhere else to be except lost in the moment.
The ceremony took place in Grace and Patrick’s living room, performed by one of Patrick’s brothers and witnessed by a small group of family, numerous little people, a fish and a bird!
Afterwards we made a short trek to a park around the corner and made use of some natural light. Although Grace warned me ahead of time that the park wasn’t spectacular, it was pretty and perfect for capturing images of their families. A bonus was that the little ones didn’t have to travel far.
After family photos were finished we headed over to The Experimental Farm to use the Ornamental Gardens as a backdrop for some couple images. The gardens are always gorgeous and never disappoint. It was very warm and the sun was harsh but we still ended up with some amazing images that captured their love and excitement at starting a life together. Thank you both so much for allowing me to be a part of your day!
